Community Health Workers (CHWs) help individuals and groups take greater control over their health and their lives. They promote healthy living by educating about how to prevent disease and injury and by helping community residents understand and access formal health and human service systems.
The Virginia Center for Health Outreach (VCHO) is a federally funded initiative to support CHWs and increase people's awareness of the use of CHW programs in Virginia.
